TripTips™ has shared this privacy policy with you as an indication of how TripTips™ cares for the information that you choose to share with us.
TripTips™ is a place for travelers to share recommendations with friends. In the long-term, TripTips™ will sell guidebooks that can be ordered online at www.triptips.com.
Information collected
TripTips™ collects user-submitted information such as your full name and email address. A user may also submit other information during the registration process. Other information is optional and subject to the user's discretion. Information that is collected at your choice includes: a self-identified "traveler type", your age, your home country or nationality, travel interests, reasons for travel and sources you use for travel decisions.
Use of information collected
The information travelers submit for the profile is available for others to view. The purpose of being able to view a profile is both to create trust in the community as well as to help others understand your TripTips™. TripTips™ will use your email address for a newsletter about the site, information about countries you are interested in and any new features we've launched. You will always have an opportunity to opt out of the newsletter. Your email address will only be made public to your buddies at www.triptips.com. Any TripTips™ you create can be viewed and used by registered TripTips™ users as well as by TripTips™.
Use of Cookies
TripTips™ employs cookies to recognize you, your access privileges and your preferences. We use cookies to allow you to log on to automatically. You may always refuse to accept TripTips™ cookies, but we will not be able to recognize you as a registered user or subscriber.
Changing information
As a registered user of TripTips™ you are able to change, delete or add any information that you submit. You may also choose to discontinue using the site and contact us to have your information deleted.
Adding a friend
When you add a buddy to your list, we register their email address so that we can send the TripTips™ invitation to them. TripTips™ will not store their information in our servers unless they choose to become a registered user. The name and email address you provide for your buddy is only used to send them an invitation. TripTips™ does not sell the email address and uses it only to send an invitation and an invitation reminder.
Changes to privacy policy
TripTips Ltd. reserves the right to change its privacy policy at any time. Should the company choose to do this, the changes will be available and visible for all users on this page. Should the privacy policy change materially, you will be notified and have an opportunity to opt out.
Third Party Advertising
TripTips™ does not currently allow any third party adverstising on the site.
