TripTips™ is by travelers for travelers. TripTips™ believes that the best kind of travel advice you can get is from friends and friends-of-friends. It’s as good as your friends and family’s recommendations are. TripTips™ also thinks getting the most up-to-date travel advice about restaurants, sights and hotels is really important.
What are TripTips™, exactly?
TripTips™ is both the name of the company and the name for the little postcard-sized pieces of trip advice for restaurants, hotels, activities, bars and sights.
Why TripTips™?
TripTips™ was created to fulfill a need. Frequent travelers have discovered that existing options are often out of date – only published or checked every other year or so.
Existing guidebooks are also written by people who may or may not share travel preferences with someone planning a trip to a new country.
And finally, when TripTips™ is complete and running on all cylinders, travelers will be able to print recommendations to only the specific destinations they’re visiting – gone are the days of lugging around heavy books!

It’s been a long time since I’ve traveled and I
can’t remember all the places I visited. What do I do?
That’s okay. Enter the information that you can. There are two tips to recall the names of places you’ve visited:
- Check old credit card receipts, names often appear on the slip of paper.
- If you’re not that organized, google is a great source. You’d be surprised what comes when you type in pizza restaurant Istanbul, when you’re looking for that great pizza place in, well, Istanbul.
This sounds like a lot of work. What’s in it for me?
2 reasons, really.
- Nostalgia. Keep track of the places you’ve been to and your impressions of them. Also, you never know when you’ll be back in that city or country
- You’re a good friend. Your friends will appreciate it when they’re going to countries you’ve been to and they want recommendations on places to go… besides you’ll look like a pretty well-traveled person, too.
